COURSE DESCRIPTION
General nursing & midwifery
The course is a 3 years full time diploma program which is affiliated to UP state medical faculty Lucknow and is approved by Indian Nursing Council, new Delhi.
- Eligibility criteria:
- Minimum education eligibility criteria for admission to GNM:
10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognized board.
- Candidates are also eligible from State Open
School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However Science is preferable. Three (core elective) subject marks may be taken for calculating the percentage of marks excluding the marks in English. Also, it has to be ensured the candidate has pass marks in English.
- 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course
from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council.
- 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational StreamHealth care Science from a recognized CBSE board/State/Centre.
- Registered ANM with pass marks.
- Extension:
- In case the student fails to clear the faculty exams conducted annually by the faculty he/she has a period of 5 years to complete the diploma course.
- Aim
- The diploma course is focused in delivering health needs to the individual, families, community and at national level.
- Objective:
After the completion of the course the students will be able to deliver effective care to the pregnant women and efficient enough to conduct or assist deliveries.
- They would be able to provide holistic care to any patient availing healthcare.
They can pursue higher education if needed and can also appear for government staff nurse vacancy.
