Auxiliary Nurse Midwives / Health Worker (Female)


This is a 2-year full-time program affiliated with the Uttar Pradesh State Medical Faculty, Lucknow and approved by the Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi.


Eligibility Criteria:

  • Minimum age for admission is 17 years as on or before 31st December of the admission year.
  • Maximum age for admission is 35 years.
  • Anganwadi, ASHA workers, and trained Dais may be considered up to 42 years for admission in government ANM schools.
  • Candidate must have passed 10+2 (any stream) from CBSE/ICSE/SSSCE/HSCE or an equivalent board.
  • Admission is subject to a satisfactory medical examination.
  • Admission is strictly open to female candidates only.

Extension:

The course duration may be extended up to 3 years in case of failure or valid reasons like health or family emergency.

Aim:

The ANM course aims to develop skilled nursing professionals who can serve effectively in both urban and rural healthcare settings. ANMs are crucial members of the healthcare system and are eligible to work in government and private hospitals, clinics, and community health programs.

Objectives:

  • To deliver effective and compassionate care at the community level.
  • To participate in healthcare surveys and promote preventive, curative, and rehabilitative healthcare services.
